Media and Centrifugal Mist Collectors by Aercology and Donaldson Torit

Brief product review by James Lee, Industrial Designer

Aercology and Torit have been bought out by Donaldson, a worldwide supplier of filter media and have had their product lines truncated to fit in with Donaldon's media filtration area of expertise. Aercology was originally focused on smoke and oil mist eliminators.  They offered equipment using all three filtration technologies, electrostatic, media and centrifugal separation.  The electrostatic precipitator has been dropped, though filter media and centrifugal separators, which also use disposable media, have remained part of the mist eliminator line up.

The big filter media units shown above are a good example of the Donaldson Torit lines of oil mist eliminators.  They are large machines that require filter washing to extend filter life between replacements.  Mechanical filtration media mist eliminators available from Donaldson Torit can be cartridge based Dryflo, vertical - floor standing, horizontal, ducted or machine mounted.  For example, the Aercology / Donaldson mini-mist collector appears to be a miniature version of Aercology's mechanical media mist eliminators, useful for light duty applications in small shops.
